SPRING CLEAN-UP DAY (BULK PICK-UP) IS MAY 10, 2019
Spring clean-up for Marble Cliff is May 10, 2019 (your regular trash day). Bulk items will be collected free of charge.
Residents should place their items at the curb. No paint, oil, tires, car batteries, construction debris, items with refrigerant or hazardous materials will be accepted.
Place small loose items inside containers for easier disposal. Please separate trash, wooden, and metal items as each are taken in different trucks.

PAUL J. FALCO SCHOLARSHIP
The Paul J. Falco Scholarship provides a scholarship opportunity to high school level students from the Village of Marble Cliff who demonstrate outstanding scholastic and leadership qualities. Beginning in 2019, the Scholarship is administered through The Columbus Foundation. For more information, click here.
The late Paul J. Falco, who served as Mayor of the Village for 36 years, was an ardent supporter of the Village, its residents, and the pursuit of life-long learning. The generosity of this endowment by Mayor Falco and his wife Bobbie Hall Falco provides the opportunity to recognize the talented youth of the Village of Marble Cliff. The Paul J. Falco Scholarship has awarded over $100,000 in scholarships to residents of the Village of Marble Cliff since its inception.
To be eligible, a student must be a high school level student, current resident of the Village and have lived in the Village for at least one year. Candidates must have a minimum 3.0 or better grade point average (on a 4.0 scale). Awarding the scholarship will be based on the applicant’s scholastic achievements (33%), character (33%), and service to school and community (34%). First priority will be given to candidates who have not received the scholarship in the past.
To be considered, a student must complete The Columbus Foundation General Online Application which can be found on here.
March 1 at 5:00 pm is the deadline for consideration of a scholarship in each year.
Individuals may make contributions to the Paul J. Falco Scholarship Fund at any time. Additional contributions will help the Scholarship grow and provide more opportunity for the recognition of outstanding students who live in the Village of Marble Cliff. TRASH AND RECYCLING PICK-UP FOR WEEK OF CHRISTMAS AND NEW YEAR’S DAY
For the week of Christmas and New Year’s Day the schedule for trash and recycling pick-up is as follows:
Instead of the regularly scheduled Friday trash and recycling, these items will be collected on Monday, December 31, 2018 (Christmas) and Monday, January 7, 2019 (New Year’s Day). The regular trash and recycling schedule returns on Friday, January 11, 2019.

LEAF PICK-UP STARTS MONDAY OCTOBER 29
Weekly curbside leaf pick-up is scheduled to begin Monday, October 29 and continue into early December. Vacuuming will be done each Monday (or the next possible day if inclement weather) by the same company, Environmental Management Inc. we have used for the last few years. Please observe the following:
- Rake leaves to the grass tree lawn strip area next to the street as soon as possible. DO NOT rake leaves into the street, as cars parked on the street can start a fire. Plus, the leaves can block the storm sewers causing dangerous ponding and expensive sewer cleaning.
- Do not place/mix yard waste and tree branches with the leaves. Dirt, decaying plants, and tree branches can clog the vacuuming equipment, slowing or stopping removal for that day. This costs the Village extra money and delays collection.
- If you want your leaves picked up, do not park your car in front of the piles on Mondays. Remember to pile leaves in the grass tree lawn where the truck can have easy access. The truck is equipped with a side mount vacuum and designed to pull alongside a leaf pile, not back up to the pile. And remember, the vacuum hose is only 10 feet long.
- For those living on Cambridge, Village Court, or Arlington, do not place leaves onto the “island” across the street from your home. All leaves are to be piled in the grass tree lawn along the curb in front of your home. If you have a lawn service, please be sure to tell them, as they have been one of our biggest violators.
- Leaves may be bagged in biodegradable paper bags, but will then be removed by the Grandview Heights Service Dept. as yard waste each Monday through the end of November. The bags cannot be thrown into the vacuum trucks.
- If your street has already been vacuumed for the day, the service will not return to your street until the next scheduled Monday pickup.

GRANDVIEW HEIGHTS/MARBLE CLIFF HISTORICAL SOCIETY ANNUAL MEETING AND HISTORICAL PRESENTATION (Oct. 21, 2018)
The Grandview Heights/Marble Cliff Historical Society will hold its annual meeting and historic presentation on Sunday, October 21, 2018 at the Grandview Theater and Drafthouse (1247 Grandview Ave.). Admission is free and refreshments will be provided. The historic presentation will be offered by Leslie Blankenship of the Franklinton Historical Society and will focus on the beginnings of Columbus neighborhoods in Franklinton. Enter from Goodale Boulevard onto Glendale Avenue. Goodwill Columbus staff will unload items from your car.
What to bring: Computers, printers, (non-tube style) monitors, copiers, scanners, fax machines, networking equipment, ink and toner cartridges, flat screen TV sets (no tube TV sets), cell phones, MP3 players, DVD/VHS players, cable boxes, records, cassettes/CDs/DVDs, video game systems and games, power adapters, chargers/cords, stereos, speakers, cameras, audiovisual equipment, microwaves, toaster ovens, toasters, vacuums, humidifiers, air purifiers, Christmas lights, string lights, lithium ion (rechargeable) batteries and household goods and clothing.

CONCEPT PLAN FOR 2015 W. FIFTH AVE. ACCEPTED BY VILLAGE COUNCIL
At its August 20, 2018 meeting, Village Council accepted the official Concept Plan for residential development of 2015 W. Fifth Ave. The Plan presented by F2 Companies calls for saving and utilizing the existing manor house and developing the property with townhouses and flats, the total number not to exceed 40 units. Council will continue to review the Plan under the Village’s Code of Ordinances (Sections 154.094 – 154.099) for the creation of a Planned Development District (PDD). This review process by Council will examine the proposal in more detail. Public input is welcome during the process, with a scheduled public hearing as part of Council’s review.
